According to The
New York Times, Kanye West will perform at a benefit concert at the
Watermill Center on 30 July. Founded in the 90s, the prestigious venue
was opened to the public in 2006, and has been home to experimental
arts; pretty much right up Yeezy’s ally.
Prolific
experimental theater stage director, Robert Wilson, is on hand to
design Kanye’s stage. Founder of the Watermill Center and man behind the
benefit, he has done work for everyone from Lou Reed to Lady Gaga.
West
is no stranger to benefit concerts. Back in 2012, he performed at the
Hurricane Sandy benefit for the victims of the tragedy. With Yeezy’s
larger than life staging ideas and Wilson’s vast expertise, this is sure
to be one of Kanye’s most memorable performances.
