Prison officer sacked over fling with caged killer – after she was exposed by her warder husband

The warder husband of a female prison officer exposed her affair with a caged killer.
A source said Danika Haggarty, who has now been sacked, had been involved in a relationship with brutal murderer Thomas Peacock for up to two years.
It’s claimed she had a peacock tattooed on her body in his honour.
Peacock is known as the pizza box murderer He and another thug put the box over their victim’s face before kicking him to death so they wouldn’t get his blood on their designer clothes.
Haggarty, 36, married fellow officer Alan Haggarty, who worked with her at Addiewell jail in West Lothian, just eight months ago.
But he threw her out of their home this month after discovering a stash of love letters from Peacock.
A prison source told the Daily Record: “Her husband found explicit letters at their home and came into work with them. She was also caught out by prison phone records.
“She was marched off the site on Tuesday last week. Her husband has left her. He’s distraught.”

On the day Haggarty was exposed, Alan wrote on Facebook: “Sometimes the hardest thing and the right thing are the same.”
Haggarty was a programmes manager at the jail, with the job of organising classes and workshops to help inmates go straight.
It’s understood she gave Peacock the job of programmes ambassador, which allowed them to have one-on-one time together.
“There was concern from staff for a few months,” said the source.
“She was taking Peacock off the wing and to her office. She even got a tattoo of a peacock on her side for him.”
It’s understood Haggarty, who is originally from Norfolk, has returned to England to stay with relatives.
We tried to contact her yesterday but her mother said she was unavailable and declined to comment.
Alan, 30, also refused to comment at his home yesterday.
A Scottish Prison Service spokesman said: “We do not comment on prison staff.”
Peacock was jailed for life in 2006 for murdering Douglas Lambie, 45, in a horrific attack in Barrhead, near Glasgow.
